... These critical supply chains often originate in tropical regions, but serve markets like the UK and Europe. This report explores how strategic private credit can transform these sectors from brown to green – unlocking measurable climate and biodiversity benefits while enhancing commercial resilience and long-term value for investors.

The 2023 &Green Fund Annual Report, presented by SAIL Investments, offers a transparent and verifiable overview of how a global private credit strategy can deliver real-world environmental and social outcomes. For pension funds seeking best practices in impact measurement, verification and assurance, this report sets a high bar.

The report includes externally verified KPIs across four dimensions of impact, each tracked on the back of sustainable value creation plans embedded in SAIL's borrower's growth plans pre-loan disbursement, and monitored via SAIL's state-of-the-art measurement, reporting and verification system. Third-party verification and 'Big Four'-level assurance ensure full transparency.

In addition, SAIL, as an early adopter, included their first TNFD report as part of &Green Fund's 2023 Annual Report. For pension funds seeking actionable reference frameworks for sustainability reporting, this is a standout case. Key outcomes as at 31 December 2023 include: 3,117,013 hectares of tropical forest protected; 13,235,800 tCO₂e in climate benefits; 3,345,634 hectares of ecosystems with improved resilience; 62,652 people with increased social resilience; 68,217 individuals benefitting directly from training, jobs or services; and real-world examples, such as deforestation-free cattle sourcing and palm oil smallholder inclusion bring the data to life and make the content highly transparent and educational for trustees.
