The panel discussion, which also featured speakers from Rebalance Earth, PwC, Opus Corporate Finance and the EBRD, considered how to value and finance nature as an asset class. Charlotte stressed that systems thinking needs to shift and pension funds need to be more transparent from a public-facing perspective. She believes that, were the public given more of an awareness regarding the positive impact their investments have, they would be more likely to invest.
Charlotte expressed: "This is all about changing the way we think about systems, in the long term and not the short term. Pensions for Purpose has done research on impact investments with our members and we've demonstrated you can make a market rate risk to return across pretty much every asset class."
She also delivered a keynote speech at the event, 'The role of pensions in financing the transition to resilient infrastructure'.
