After a workshop with Pensions for Purpose in 2020, South Yorkshire Pensions Authority (SYPA) fully committed to a 5% allocation to impact investments, dedicating 1% to place-based investments in South Yorkshire. The fund had also set a goal of achieving net zero by 2030.
Currently, SYPA's impact investment allocation is between 3.5% and 4%, expected to reach 5% by 2028. "That's a level within the fund that we feel comfortable with, in terms of risk and concentration," Graham said.
