For UK pension schemes under pressure to deliver long-term value in line with Mansion House reforms, the “forgotten half of net zero” — biodiversity and natural capital — presents both a risk and an opportunity. While 75% of asset owners now recognise the financial materiality of nature, most remain confined to reporting and risk assessment, without yet translating it into investable strategies.

This online roundtable explored how natural capital, accessed through global private credit with deep local origination networks, can broaden the investable universe while delivering risk-adjusted returns, physical resilience, and long-term value for UK pension portfolios. With insights from SAIL Investments’ leadership, Founder and CIO Johnny Brom and CSO Michael Schlup, alongside commodity supply chain expert Murilo Parada, the session looked at how to move from frameworks to real strategies that generate conviction at board level.

If your scheme is asking “what’s next for climate and biodiversity?”, this event was for you.
