In this short video, Charlotte O'Leary and Karen Shackleton share our new Eco System Partner programme, and strategies for the fourth quarter of 2024 and beyond, highlighting the importance of creating ecosystems that foster stakeholder collaboration.

They outline these long-term themes for 2025:

  • System and governance change.
  • Impact integration.
  • Place.
  • People value.
  • Climate innovation.
  • Biodiversity.

A significant part of the discussion focuses on how asset owners can adapt their investment strategies to align with these emerging themes. Charlotte and Karen highlight how diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are vital in shaping investment decisions and governance structures. While progress has been made, they note much remains to be done, particularly in understanding the unique demographics within our membership profiles. Our successful, Generation Rent event is referenced as an example of how conflicting policies can sometimes lead to unintended consequences in investment decisions.

The speakers advocate for a holistic approach to DE&I spanning the entire investment process, governance and member engagement. They also touch on the importance of emerging markets as a viable investment opportunity, pointing out how perceptions of risk may be preventing investments with significant potential. The video concludes with a call for collaboration among asset managers and stakeholders to expand research and masterclasses aimed at maximising impact across sectors.

Overall, the fireside chat considers the evolving landscape of financial investing and the need for adaptive strategies to meet future challenges.
