Given that corporate disclosures on biodiversity tend to be limited, Newton Investment Management believe dialogue with investee companies is likely to be a valuable tool for investors. They expect industry engagements on biodiversity to become more targeted and sophisticated over time, as investors’ understanding of the risks increases, regulations emerge, and the financial impacts of biodiversity on investee companies become clearer.
